I mostly use my Swagbucks for $5 Amazon gift certificates. It just takes a few moments each day to do a few searches until I earn 1 or more Swagbucks. Here are my Swagbucks tips:

-I use Swagbucks as a way to get to websites I was headed for anyway. They say it doesn't give you a better chance of winning Swagbucks by clicking on the results; however, I've found that the more I use it like an actual search engine, the more likely I am to earn Swagbucks.

-Invite your friends - you can earn Swagbucks for the Swagbucks they earn, up to a certain amount.

-One person mentioned that they have better luck online in general in contests when you search/try to win at off times. Is it super early? Around lunchtime? If prizes are given at predetermined times during the day/night, you're more likely to win Swagbucks if there are less people searching at the same time you are. However, this is just a theory and I haven't even ancedotally experienced it.

Paperback Swap - a great way to save on books

Do you have any used books lying around? Ones you've already enjoyed, but you're never going to read again? I did, and I finally found a great way to share them with other people!

It seems that a few guys were sitting around one night talking about all the paperback books that they purchased over the years while traveling on business. Each of them had a large stack of books that they had read, so they decided to set up a website at http://www.PaperBackSwap.com/ that allows all of us to swap books with each other.

Let me tell you how it works -- because it is so easy! I listed a bunch of books on the site (listing 10 books gets the first member in your household free credits!) and I got 2 free book credits to get started. So you can order 2 books right away - free of charge -- and have them mailed directly to you! No strings attached. No gimmicks. No spam mail. Nothing. You just have to love reading books.

When another member selects one of my books that I have listed, I mail it to them. Yes, I pay for the postage. But then I get another book credit and I can select a book that I want. So another Club Member returns the favor and mails me one of his or her books free of charge. For every book I mail out, I get another book in return - a true shared system!

When someone requests one of your books, all you have to do is print two pieces of regular paper from your printer which includes the mailing address and the recommended postage. Apply the postage, and drop it in the mail. Hey, for a typical paperback, you don't even need to go to the post office.

I am realizing now that many of my posts will revolve around getting pictures printed - and I'm OK with that! Most people take pictures - a lot of them take A LOT of pictures. Here's a deal for getting a lot of them printed.

Walgreens is running a sale through May 30th: 50 4x6 prints for $5. You have to order at least 50, and use the code SUMMER5.

Since our city is overrun with Walgreens (and I say this lovingly!), I can pick up the pictures, no problem!

2 Shutterfly offers

I am nuts for taking pictures, and try to balance getting pictures printed at a great price vs. getting them printed at a great quality. I do like Shutterfly - they do have pretty good quality, but I try not to pay full price. Here are a few different ways to save at Shutterfly.

2 other offers that I have received in the past are through newsletters. One is Creating Keepsakes . On the right side of the page, there is a box with a newsletter tab. Click on the newsletter tab, and you can subscribe to that newsletter. I have received credits for free 8x8 photo books in the past. I always read through their newsletters just to make sure!

And just a couple of days ago, I received $10 off any order credit for Shutterfly through Borders Rewards. I believe I have received a similar credit before.
